First, the card includes Auto Rental Collision damage waiver insurance. This insurance covers most rental cars worldwide. This insurance is available to both authorized users and primary renters. The coverage is for up to seventy thousand dollars, which is good for most rental cars.
You can also save money by using your Chase Sapphire Reserve card with rental car insurance. If you rent a car from a rental agency, they often charge you for collision coverage, which can be expensive. By using your Sapphire Reserve credit card with car rental insurance, you'll avoid paying for this coverage and save $15 or more per day.
American Express
If you have an American Express card and plan to rent a car from a rental agency, you should consider enrolling in their car rental insurance. Logging into your account online is the easiest way to do this. You can choose the coverage that you prefer. You will also need to select the card you will most likely use for the rental. After enrolling, you won’t need to pay anything until your first rental car is available. When you do, you will be charged the applicable premium coverage rate.
American Express offers two levels in car rental insurance coverage. The premium level includes primary coverage of up to $100,000. However, this plan is not applicable to rental cars in Israel, New Zealand, Jamaica, Australia, or Israel. It does not cover vans or trucks with a gross vehicle weight exceeding 10,000 pounds, off-road vehicles, or vehicles older than 20 years. It does not cover vehicles rented to auto dealerships, moving firms, or auto body repair shops.
Capital One Venture Rewards
Capital One Venture Reward credit card with car rental protection is a good option if you are frequent traveler. This card is free of annual fees and offers decent rewards. The card offers travelers a range of travel protections including rental car insurance and emergency vehicle services. Members receive two complimentary annual visits to Capital One and Plaza Premium Lounges. Capital One opened the first lounge at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport's Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport on January 17, 2017. Capital One offers virtual number and warranty protection for free.
The Capital One Venture provides car rental insurance that covers theft and physical damage. This card also earns 5x miles per car rental and hotel stay. Capital One Venture card gives you the ability to redeem your miles for a specific amount. In addition, the card comes with a purchase eraser tool, which allows you to erase an eligible purchase by using your miles.
